Grand Canyon Mohave Point
Grand Canyon Mohave Point is a popular destination for visitors to the South Rim. The Grand Canyon is located in the Grand Canyon National Park and is divided into two rims. The North Rim is on the Utah side and is closed for the winter months. The South Rim is on the Arizona side and is definitely the more popular location. Mohave Point is just one of the many stops along the way. Here you will see stunning views of the Colorado River and the sharp cliffs that circle around the area known as the Abyss.

Mohave Point
At Mohave Point you will also get to see Cheops Pyramid, which is more than 5,000 feet tall. It is situated behind Dana Butte and is gray in color. Traveling west from Mohave Point you will reach Pima Point. Another thing about Mohave Point is how visible some of the rapids are. You get to see Granite and Boucher Rapids which are located near the end Monument Creek. Another thing you'll notice when at Mohave Point is the Alligator, a sandstone mesa that is red in color and has jagged, sharp edges. It is a spectacular place to watch the sunset.
If you want to visit this point and others, one way to do so is on a bus tour. There are shuttle buses that stop at Mohave Point. You will find the area to be peaceful because it receives a smaller number of visitors than more populated areas like Hopi Point. No matter where you go, the Grand Canyon is a spectacular sight to see. It is the result of millions of years, created by the flowing of the Colorado river. When you see the canyon for the first time, you will likely be amazed at its size.

Sunrise at Mojave Point
Grand Canyon Mohave Point is only one part of this massive natural wonder. The canyon is 277 miles long, 18 miles wide at the widest point, and one mile deep. You can explore it on foot, by mule, by boat or simply marvel at its beauty from the Rim. The multicolored layers of rock date back millions of years and tell a story of the Earth's evolution. Although the canyon itself started to be formed only six million years ago, some of the rock exposed by it is a great deal older. You will be amazed at the views whether you are at Mohave Point or another location.
