The canyon spans a massive 277 miles in length, 4 to 18 miles in width and a mile in depth. It can be explored on foot, by mule, or even by boat. Many explorers have ventured down the Colorado River on rafts, canoes and other watercraft. This is certainly a great way to experience the beauty of the canyon from the inside. Of course, you can certainly enjoy stunning views from the Rim as well.
